You’re advised to observer the gorilla trekking rules, to protect the endangered mountain gorillas in Uganda, the following rules and regulations must be observed: BOOK NOW
- Flash photography is not permitted and when taking pictures move slowly and carefully.
- Do not surround the gorillas but remain in a tight group.
- Do not touch the gorillas, they are wild animals.
- A 6 meter (21 feet) distance should try to be observed at all times from the gorillas. The further back you are, the more relaxed the group will be as well
- When the Gorillas approach you, move back slowly.
- Do not smoke, drink or eat when you are near the gorillas. This could increase the risk of transmission of diseases
- No one with a communicable disease such as flu or diarrhea is allowed to visit the gorillas.
- The maximum time you can spend with the gorillas is one hour. However, if the gorillas become agitated or nervous, the guide will finish the visit early.
- Any an necessary sneeze or cough, turn away from the gorillas and cover your nose and mouth.
- After the visit keep your voices down until you are 200 meters away from the gorillas.
- No person under 15 years is allowed to track gorillas.
- Avoid making loud noise or or unnecessary movements when you’re with the gorillas
- Please observe all these gorilla trekking rules and instructions from your guide as well respect them.
