The trailhead of the long Batwa trail is at the base of Mt Muhavura. Exhibits inside the building explore themes relating to the Virunga environment. A trail along the stone Buffalo Wall – built to keep animals out of neighboring farmland – provides good birding and views of the volcanoes.  This walk takes about 1 hour.

Such eye catching is about 800m away from the visitors’ centre in the south, where you will be granted a chance to see 3 volcanoes but mostly Sabinyo. In the north, there are farmlands, there is Lake Mutanda, there are highlands and you can also see part of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and then in the west and the Rift Valley in Congo.
